Chideock

Chideock

Chideock is a characterful village of golden stone and thatch. It’s surrounded by the most glorious countryside and a ideal base for walking in the hills, woods and valleys of westernmost Dorset. It is also ideally situated for trips to the Jurassic Coast seaside resorts of West Bay, Charmouth and Lyme Regis.

If you are ready for some invigorating exercise, you can scale Golden Cap (the highest cliff on the south coast) from Langdon Wood or nearby Seatown – the views from the top along the golden beaches – from Portland to Lyme – are quite breathtaking. But Seatown probably has the edge, as you can recharge your batteries afterwards in the Anchor Inn with a hearty filled roll washed down with a pint of Palmers’ local ale!
