Litton Cheney

Set just off the A35 in what must be one of the most glorious stretches of west Dorset countryside, Litton Cheney is set in the Bride Valley only 3 miles from the coast at West Bexington. The village is full of picture-book pretty stone cottages and houses, and the starting point for country walks and cycle rides – it’s on a pleasingly level section of national cycle route #2 linking Dorchester and Lyme Regis.

The village pub, complete with stream-bordered beer garden and skittle alley serves traditional pub fare, and nearby Abbotsbury has several visitor attractions including the Swannery, St Catherine’s Chapel and the Subtropical gardens
